Waterproof Breathable Enclosure Vent
This is a waterproof breathable vent for electronics enclosures. An enclosure vent allows air and gases to pass back and forth between the interior and exterior of the housing while preventing water from entering.
Venting an otherwise waterproof or sealed enclosure helps to prevent condensation and other issues related to large pressure swings due to heat changes. Using a vent also reduces stresses on the enclosure and seals to assist with longevity..
These are similar to a Gore-tex vent but are make by Milvent. Datasheet is available here, this is the MIV-12HA model with a M12 thread, lock nut is included.
