Draytek Vigor 120 ADSL2+ Modem/Router with bridge PPPoA to PPPoE relay
The Draytek Vigor 120 (DV120) is a high speed ADSL2/2+ modem with powerful NAT, Firewall and network management functions.
With an Ethernet connection, this low cost modem router supports not only NAT, but also PPPoE/PPPoA relay. This feature (also called PPPoE to PPPoA Bridging or PPPoE to PPPoA Transparent Pass Through) allows LAN devices to use PPPoE protocol to access an ISP who uses PPPoA protocol. It means that this modem router is more universally useable than modems that only offer PPPoE access.
Like all other DrayTek Vigor series routers, the inbuilt Firewall is Object based, which means that Firewall rules for IP packet filtering, traffic control, URL content filtering, DDoS, can be profiled into groups and tied to a time scheduler for flexibility and easy setup.
As well as traditional Network Management tools such as CLI, Web Based GUI, built-in diagnostics, etc., this modem router also supports TR-069 for central management system (such as DrayTek's VigorACS) allowing ISPs to remotely access and configure their customers routers.
Although low cost, the Vigor 120 supports network features such as DDNS, DNS cache/proxy, UPnP. It also supports IGMPv2 proxy which is essential for IPTV applications.
For existing DrayTek users, the Vigor120 is the ideal modem for multi-WAN or broadband routers such as Vigor3300V, VigorPro5510, Vigor2910/2930/2950 and Vigor2820 series.

I'm not sure if that fixes the issue, I'll talk to our distributors and post back when I know more.

From geekzone, http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=81&topicid=34343#234399 identified the probable problem from an underpowered power adapter. Can you verify with your distributors if replacing the power adapter with a 9V 1A fixes the problem.
If anyone out there still has a 9V, 0.5A power adapter they can return it to SnapperNet (www.snappernet.co.nz) to get it exchanged for a higher spec'd unit.
So if I buy the Vigor120 now, it comes with the correct ( 9v 1A) power adapter, or do i have to send it for exchange with SnapperNet after I bought this?
Thanks
All the Vigor 120 units sold now will have the updated firmware and correct power supply so you should have no troubles with any connections.

Can the modem handle a VPN connection ?
It is not an absolute requirement as I can use a wireless internet connection.
This one doesn't do VPN itself but you could use something like OpenVPN through it without an issue.

Any help would be great.
I'll believe the standard 3.2.4.4 is the correct one but I'll see if Richard the helpful guy from SnapperNet can help out further.
http://www.draytek.com.au/downloads.php?type=Vigor120
You'll see that there 10 different versions (codes) of version 3.2.4.4.
Unlike moost of the cheaper modem routers, Draytek provides various modem codes for getting better operability with different ISPs / IPDSLAMs.
The standard modem code (332201) which is in the shipping firmware works fine with 'almost' all the NZ telco / ISP exchanges.
Draytek only recommends trying the others to overcome issues encountered with telco / ISP interoperability (IOP) issues.
Hope that helps.
