This is the Wemos Motor Shield for D1 Mini, an I2C dual motor driver shield.

Pins Description:

  • VM: Motor power supply + (Max 15Vdc)
  • GND: Motor power supply -
  • A1 A2: Motor A
  • B1 B2: Motor B
  • S: Standby control port (in IO mode)
  • Standby control mode
    • I2C mode: Control TB6612’s STBY with I2C protocol
    • IO mode: Control TB6612’s STBY with “S” pin
  • Shield reset mode
    • short: reset with d1 mini (reset at power on or press d1 mini’s reset button)
    • open: reset by “DTR” pin.

  1. FYI getting ready to try my new motor shield, came across this.

    "However, the code running on it is really sloppy, resulting in the firmware hanging and bringing the I2C bus down whenever you look at it funny. But we are hackers, we can fix it!"
  2. I found the shield to be useless without flashing the new firmware mentioned above. The process is pretty painless if you have a 3.3V USB to serial adapter and a few pin-to-pin jumper wires.

    Also, the schematic link above is broken, and the current link on the Wemos wiki points to the relay shield schematic :(
