Description: Solenoids are a great way to induce linear motion for pushing, pulling or controlling switches and levers.This smaller solenoid is designed to work directly with 5V which makes it a great match for embedded projects. It has a throw of about 6mm and 2 M2 mounting holes on the body.

The wire lead is about 2" long and is terminated with a 2-pin JST PH connector.

  1. Hi, is this a pull type or push type? I need a push type (in which the shaft comes out to push something when activated (voltage applied) and springs back in as voltage is removed; i.e. does not fall off (the captivated slug type). Please confirm.

  3. Thanks a lot for your kind reply Hadley. The other thing I would like to know is whether the shaft pushes outward (6 mm) as voltage is applied and springs back in as voltage is removed; i.e. does not fall off (the captivated plunger type). I need to know this before I can buy these. Please confirm.

  5. Thanks Hadley, I know it's push type. What I am asking is does it spring back in or loosely attached and thus falls out. That is to ask if it is the captive type or free plunger type?
